The pair are just as beloved today as they were in the show's heyday when it premiered 15 years ago. What was their secret? Long hours bonding off-set before filming? A compatibility test? Not quite...
"I had decided to pursue acting, like, six months before I think this show got picked up. So it was really overwhelming and really lucky. Complete shock to the system because it went on for long and I had to learn so much so fast," Bledel said in an interview with NBC's Today. That's where Graham's mama bear instincts came in.
"There was so much to take in, and then the lines. The camerawork on that show is very specific and we really had to hit certain marks, which especially when you start out, is just a foreign concept," Graham said, noting she would grab Bledel to get her to make her mark with the tricky camerawork. "I remember a lot of times just kind of grabbing her, just kind of leading her arm. So, in the beginning, people are like, 'You have such great chemistry.' And I'm like, 'I'm mauling her. That's why.'"
Graham said all those years together they just "always got along." "I just so appreciated having such a great partner," Graham said.
"Me too," Bledel echoed.

The cast assembled at the 2015 ATX Festival to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the show's premiere. Graham and Bledel were joined by creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, and several of the supporting cast including Kelly Bishop, Scott Patterson, Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia, Matt Czuchry and Keiko Agena for one epic panel. And of course a filmed reunion movie was discussed.
"I'm sorry, there's nothing in the works at the moment," Sherman-Palladino said on the panel. "Nobody here hates each other…That's very important...if it ever happened, I promise you we'd do it correctly."
"There's nothing standing in our way. There's, for sure, willingness," Graham said in the Today interview.
