The Romeo + Juliet soundtrack will never be the same.

In yet another instance of Leighton Meester stealing our hearts, the Gossip Girl star turned pop singer recently covered a dreamy version of  The Cardigans' "Lovefool" for The A.V. Club. Originally the anthem of all angst-ridden '90s teens, Meester doesn't change too much of the funky jam for her version, and she doesn't need to! The song (like Meester) is pure perfection.

In the video, the 29-year-old's baby bump is barely even noticeable under her burgundy sweater, probably because the cover was shot during a break on the singer's U.S. tour earlier this year following the release of her debut album Heartstrings.

Of singing "Lovefool," Meester said she could relate to the tune's emotional lyrics.

"I chose it because I've always really liked it. I think it's ironic and really cute and sounds super-fun, but it's also really desperate and I can relate," she explained.

Sorry, Leighton, but we have a hard time believing that considering you snagged Adam Brody as a hubby.

Back in November, the natural beauty opened up to Noisey about her songwriting process now that she's married.

"If you didn't have pain then you wouldn't have a record, a movie, or a book, or anything," she shared. "When I'm writing, I can't think about how it comes out. I just do what feels right."
