It's hard out here for an Ezria shipper!

The fan-favorite Pretty Little Liars couple has been able to overcome a lot over the last five seasons, from their age-difference to Ezra (Ian Harding) writing a tell-all book about her and her friends (to name but a few of their obstacles on their road to happily ever after). But it looks like how Aria (Lucy Hale) handles life after Charles DiLaurentis' mind-games in the Dollhouse may truly make or break their relationship.

In the sneak peek from "Songs of Innocence" above, Aria thanks Ezra for saving her (and the other Liars, of course!) from the Dollhouse. And the exchange that follows is really cute, which Aria joking about "kittens."

But things take a quick  turn after Ezra suggests Aria deal with emotions after Charles' torture by writing about the ordeal. Ruh-roh!

And like the sneak peek implies, things will definitely be taking a "dark" turn in the series as Aria, Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Mona (Janel Parrish) attempt to cope with what they've been through.

"There are going to be some serious repercussions and scars, emotional as well as physical,"Janel Parrish previewed of what's in store for the ladies. "It's going to get dark." And except to see all of the Liars handle their dollhouse-related-PTSD differently, as Parrish said, "They're all going to be messed up in different ways."

When we chatted with Sasha Pieterse about the Dollhouse fallout, she teased that all of the girls' relationships will be "strained," as "they all isolate themselves and deal with all their inner-demons."

Pretty Little Liars airs tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
