Matt and Amy Roloff have decided to move forward with their split.

E! News confirms with TLC that the Little People, Big World stars filed for divorce after announcing their separation in March 2014.

"After 27 years of marriage, it is with great sadness that we have come to the difficult decision to file for divorce. We are proud of what we have accomplished together including raising four wonderful children who have grown to become remarkable adults and building our strong and ongoing successful businesses," the couple said in a joint statement to E! News.

"Our kids and our ever growing family, and the love and support we have for them, will be our priority. We will continue to work together side by side in the daily responsibilities for our many current ventures.  We would like to thank our family, friends and all our fans for their continued support and understanding during this difficult time."

The Roloffs first revealed that they decided to call it quits last year, when they explained that "though we have weathered many storms together, we recently made the tough decision to engage in a trial separation."

The statement at the time continued, "Matt remains living on the farm in our guest house and we work together every day on the farm, on our business endeavors and most importantly, raising our amazing children. We sincerely appreciate the unwavering support, understanding and prayers from our family, friends and many fans. May God bless you."

Neither Amy nor Matt went into detail about what sparked the split, but the pair both openly addressed problems within their marriage on the popular reality show.

"I think what Matt and I failed to do over many, many years is learned to live together," Amy admitted during an episode that aired after their separation announcement. "It's not my choice for him to leave. I am saddened by it. It's been 26 years. We don't have a plan as far as how we are going to work this out, so it's not going to be easy."

The Roloffs have four children—twins Jeremy and Zack, 25, Molly, 21, and Jacob, 18. Zack, like his parents, has been diagnosed with dwarfism.

People was first to report on the divorce filing.
