Nichols' health scare comes less than three months after her beloved Star Trek co-star Leonard Nimoy died back in February at the age of 83.

His wife Susan Bay Nimoy confirmed his passing citing the cause of death as end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Nimoy and Nichols' longtime friend and co-star William Shatner said of Nimoy's death, "I loved him like a brother. We will all miss his humor, his talent, and his capacity to love."
