Caitlyn Jenner's Vanity Fair Stylist Shares Which Dress the Star Kept After the Shoot—Watch Now!

It was a very "emotional" shoot for everyone

For her debut in Vanity Fair, Caitlyn Jenner wore Donna Karan, Badgley Mischka, Zac Posen and Hervé Leger. And who helped her select those styles? Vanity Fair stylist Jessica Diehl. Though don't go giving her all the credit: It was "100 percent collaboration," the fashion and style director told E! News exclusively.

(With the release of her Vanity Fair cover on June 1, Caitlyn has chosen to publicly identify as a woman and E! News will refer to her using female pronouns. In stories published prior to this date, Caitlyn was referred to as Bruce and male pronouns were used.)

So what was it like on set? "Emotional…[On] the second day when we finished and it was the relief that it went well and it was fun and we genuinely liked each other," Diehl explains.

As for the fittings beforehand: "In her case she has perfect proportions to dress. We had four hour fitting and tried on endless amounts and only two pieces we didn't like. She can't fit samples, but the proportion of her body really helps. It's healthy, perfect and great."

But which frock is Jenner's favorite? That just might be the sleek red Donna Karan New York dress, which she got to keep after the shoot. Inside the magazine spread, the E! star can be seen wearing the midi dress while posing in her Porsche. "It had a lot to do with Bruce's love of cars and that doesn't mean Caitlyn won't—and won't be into fierce things," explained Diehl. "Her gender won't define her interest."

And as fantastic as that photograph is, it's not the stylist's top pick. "Personally, [the picture] where she is gazing out over Malibu," Jessica says. "She spent so much time hidden and figuring out the right way to come out."

And yes, as we now we know, family came to support. "Kim [Kardashian] did stop by on the second day." That, it turns out, was actually the first time the expecting star met Caitlyn.

"She looked so beautiful," the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star told E! News Monday night at the 2015  CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City. "I'm so proud of her and she's so inspiring."

Echoing Kim's sentiments, Jenner's kids have been cheering for Caitlyn on social media. "We were given this life because you were strong enough to live it!...You are beautiful," said Khloé Kardashian, while Kourtney Kardashian simply called the photos "Stunning." And Kendall Jenner declared: "Now that's a cover."
