More and more, young Hollywood is all about the buddy system when getting ready to go out with a friend. Ariana Grande was spotted out with a pal in London on Monday, while wearing matching platforms, black fit-and-flare minis and belly-baring cutouts. Meanwhile, over the past few months, Kylie Jenner and Pia Mia have been sighted in matching outfits on more than one occasion while shopping and lunching in LA.

The pairs of friends don't wear identical ensembles—while color palettes and silhouettes match, little details vary (here, Ariana wears a halter, while her friend wears a dress). But when it comes to style, is twinning winning?
