Jon Stewart doesn't like what's being said about Caitlyn Jenner's appearance.

By introducing herself to the world via Vanity Fair Monday, Caitlyn—formerly known as Bruce Jenner—said she felt "free." Unfortunately, posing for the magazine's July issue also opened her up to criticism.

"It's especially brave of Caitlyn Jenner to do this, because we all know the media. They're awful. And now we're going to have to listen to a lot of people saying awful things about this," Jon said on The Daily Show Tuesday. In the first set of clips, however, pundits called Caitlyn's coming out "courageous" and "an important cultural milestone." Jon was taken by surprise, saying, "That was actually great. I mean, obviously some people were dicks, but today we're not going to let them ruin it. Because it's really heartening to see that everyone is willing to not only to see Caitlyn Jenner as a woman, but to waste no time in treating her like a woman."

(With the release of her Vanity Fair cover, Caitlyn has chosen to publicly identify as a woman and E! News will refer to her using female pronouns. In stories published prior to this date, Caitlyn was referred to as Bruce and male pronouns were used.)

Jon played clips of various journalists assessing Caitlyn's beauty, body and fashion. One woman called her "so sexy it hurts," while others said that she looked "beautiful," "hot," "glamorous" and "stunning."

"You see, Caitlyn, when you were a man, we could talk about your athleticism, your business acumen," Jon said. "But now you're a woman, which means your looks are really the only thing we care about."
