Enrique Iglesias is in recovery mode after suffering a scary mid-concert injury that occurred at his Tijuana show over the weekend.

During the concert, the 40-year-old right hand was sliced open by a drone used to take aerial photos. The bloody injury was so serious he has to undergo surgery on his hand this week.

Iglesias' rep gave fans an update on health yesterday. "Thank you to all for your concern and good wishes. Enrique is currently undergoing reconstructive hand surgery today. He will resume his tour July 3rd in Mexico City. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers," the rep tells E! News in a statement.

Iglesias' team also took to Instagram today to share, "We wanted to give you a personal update about his condition. His recent surgery lasted longer than expected since the damage ended up being a bit worse than initially assessed. He suffered a fracture that needed to be corrected in addition to the reconstructive surgery. He will be recovering during the next few weeks, but a full recovery is anticipated. - Team Enrique."

When the injury occurred on Saturday, fans were quick to share photos of Iglesias and his bloody hand on social media. Despite getting sliced pretty good, the pop star did continue to perform "I Like It" with a bandaged, bloody hand, which he held behind his back. He also smeared some of the blood on his white T-shirt to draw a heart.

What a pro!
