There's nothing like starting an altercation at a charity event, right?

That's precisely what Lil Wayne appeared to do over the weekend while attending the 4th Annual Loose Cannon Celebrity Basketball Game at St. Louis University's Chaifetz Arena Sunday evening—feel free to take a brief moment to note the irony.

TMZ has video of the whole ordeal and reports that the rapper, who was coaching one of the teams involved in the charity match, began arguing with a referee after a series of less-than-favorable calls for his team.

The Young Money boss, and team leader, allegedly spit and rushed the ref, who put his arms up as others approached him during the game.

According to TMZ, someone in the crowd called the local authorities to report an assault, however, no cops responded to the scene and no one was arrested.

A portion of the proceeds for the game went to the Put Down the Pistol initiative, a local anti-gun violence program in St. Louis.

Per the initiative's official site, the "program promotes a decrease in gun violence through the use of conflict-resolution skills, leadership, and anonymous crime reporting."

Their statement also goes on to say, "In addition to crime reduction resources shared in the community, the program connects individuals with education, job training, healthy relationship, and responsible parenting resources in hopes of helping them to make responsible, positive life choices."

You hear that, Weezy?
