Caitlyn Jenner is getting very candid about her transition.

In the 65-year-old's headline-making cover and interview with Vanity Fair, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star recalls undergoing a 10-hour facial-feminization surgery several months ago in Beverly Hills. While recovering from the grueling surgery at home, Jenner suffered the first panic attack of her life. "What did I just do? What did I just do to myself," the Olympian recalls thinking.

In addition to undergoing facial surgery, Jenner also got breasts. However, there's still one major procedure Jenner has yet to have done: genital surgery.

"If you have a list of 10 reasons to transition, sex would be number 10," Jenner tells the mag adding that she has no immediate plans to have the procedure done.

Many Jenner fans who watched her win a gold medal at the 1976 Olympics remember her as a "handsome" man dubbed the "world's greatest athlete" as Vanity Fair put it. Jenner says she never wanted to embody the image of the ideal man.

"People say, ‘Oh my God, what a body—you look great.' That wasn't what I was going for," she tells VF. "I could not really cross-dress. I tried to grow my hair out as much as I could without getting yelled at."

All in all, Jenner doesn't regret a thing about her recent transition. "If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, 'You just blew your entire life. You never dealt with yourself,' and I don't want that to happen,'" Jenner revealed

"Bruce always had to tell a lie. He was always living that lie. Every day he always had a secret, from morning till night," she adds. "Caitlyn doesn't have any secrets. As soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out, I'm free."

(With the release of her Vanity Fair cover on June 1, Caitlyn has chosen to publicly identify as a woman and E! News will refer to her using female pronouns. In stories published prior to this date, Caitlyn was referred to as Bruce and male pronouns were used.)
