American Idol alum Paula Abdul and singer/dancer Jason "Jasoooon Deruloooo" Derulo joined veteran Nigel Lythgoe at the judges table tonight for the season 12 premiere of Fox's dancing competition series, ushering in a whole new era for the show.
As if all the new faces weren't enough of a change, season 12 also introduced a new twist in the competition: stage dancers vs. street dancers. This isn't your parents' So You Think You Can Dance!
While the premiere featured everything we love about So You Think You Can Dance, from amazing choreography, passionate contestants and sob stories so heartbreaking and inspiring that we went through a full box of tissues, the jury is still out on the new judges. With only one episode down, we haven't seen enough of Abdul and Derulo doing their thing with Lythgoe and Deeley to pass full judgment on their new gig.

And while we're at it, let's also give a major round of applause to Cat Deeley, who only last night took home the hardware at the 2015 Critics' Choice Television Awards for Best Reality Series Host! A well-deserved win, indeed.
