Chad Michael Murray became a father just weeks ahead of Father's Day!

The Chosen actor announced the birth of his son with wife Sarah Roemer via Twitter Sunday. The news came after fans became concerned that Murray had missed Sunday's 29th Annual Jim Kelly Celebrity Classic VIP Gala. "Sry I'm missin @JimKellyInc charity this year in Buffalo. My fav event 2 attend, but we've been blessed with a son. Gods greatest gift," he tweeted. "Sarah & I couldn't b happier & intend 2 spend many a day having family adventures & watching @buffalobills football! & also @Chargers now."

Jim Kelly is a former Buffalo Bills quarterback. The team's current defensive back, Aaron Williams, tweeted, "Congrats to my buddy @ChadMMurray on having his new born son. Can't wait to meet him and see him go crazy at the Ralph one day."

Other details, including the baby's name, were not immediately available.

Fatherhood is a dream come true for Murray, who plays Jack Thompson in Marvel's Agent Carter. In January, E! News exclusively revealed that Murray, 33, and his actress wife, 30, had gotten married and were expecting a baby. The next month, when asked what kind of dad he would be, the former One Tree Hill star said, "Ooh, that's tough. I'm a respect first kind of guy, so I think certain things that I want my son to have is just respect and just to be a kind human being. I'm a big sports guy, an outdoorsy guy, so I'll be having him fishing at 5, 6...to take him kayaking and hiking. I just keep thinking in my head, just trying to create 6-foot-5 quarterback."

Before his son's arrival, Murray told Bello magazine that becoming a dad felt like "the greatest thing in the whole world. I'm going to sit back and enjoy this new chapter. The actor added that his son will not grow up in the spotlight.

"I'm really good at staying under the radar these days. My wife and I, we don't go to the quote-unquote 'cool' places," he told the magazine's May issue. "We have our own life, we have our dogs, we have our lifestyle that we truly enjoy, and we've got a cabin if we want to get away and go camping. I feel very good about my private scene. I'm going to do everything I can to protect my family and go from there."

Congratulations to the happy family!
