Gwyneth Paltrow Is the Spitting Image of Mom Blythe Danner: See the Throwback Pic!

You know that horrifying moment when you suddenly realize you are actually becoming your mother? Well, Gwyneth Paltrow just did and we are kind of freaking out right alongside her. 

The actress took to Instagram to share the utterly freaky Friday shot of mom Blythe Danner in a 1970s episode of Columbo captioning it, "#repost. Okay. This is weird. #isthatmeormymom." 

The photo shows a 29-year-old Danner looking effortlessly retro in oversize shades, a tousled low ponytail and preppy cream sweater draped around her shoulders. Between Paltrow and Danner's perfect pout, pointed chin and arched brows, you'd almost assume they were twins. 

The mother-daughter duo share more than just an amazing gene pool, though. Danner, now 72, recently sat down with Natalie Morales on NBC's Today to open up about just how proud (and rightfully so!) she is of her daughter. 

"I know that she's the most extraordinary girl who can do everything. Incredible mother! She's raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for my husband's oral cancer foundation—things she doesn't talk about a lot. She's becoming a great environmentalist. I'm so proud of her," Danner shared. "I think she's so accomplished that people get kind of intimidated by it. Great cook, great mom, great actress."

Paltrow has also expressed her appreciation for Danner's inspirational wisdom. 

"I think she's taught me a lot about embracing my femininity and a lot about being a woman who isn't afraid to be creative and expressive and to channel that energy and power, which she does in such an elegant and graceful way," the 42-year-old mom of two gushed at a recent screening for Danner's new movie I'll See You in My Dreams. 

Paltrow isn't the only famous daughter in Hollywood who's marveled at an uncanny parental resemblance. 

Dancing with the Stars winner Rumer Willis also laughed at the striking features she shares with mom and actress Demi Moore on Instagram as the pair sported matching jumpsuits, black-rimmed glasses and flowing black tresses.
