Mad Men Writers' Room Wish List Revealed: Which Stories Didn't Make the Cut?

Looks like we could use almost a whole other season of AMC's hit drama

To do: Wash dishes, do laundry, revisit Peggy's baby via her mother's possible death.

This might be both the greatest and most frustrating gift that Mad Men fans have ever gotten, but it also kinda makes us feel a heck of a lot better about all the things we haven't yet managed to accomplish in our lives.

At a Writer's Guild Q&A event on Thursday night, creator Matthew Weiner and the show's writers brought along a few notes from the writers' room, including a list called, "Wish List: Things We Want to Deal With Before the Series Ends."

While a few of the thirty-or-so items have been crossed off, the list is still pretty full of loose ends that were never tied up before the series ended earlier this month.

The items on the list range from actual storylines—Pete's knowledge of Don's identity, the baby Peggy gave up for adoption, Peggy's dynamic with her mother—to just names of people to check in on, like Faye, Smitty, Hildy, and Pete's college friend Ho Ho.

We're actually very OK with having missed out on a few of those storylines, but there's one that we would very much like to see answered: What happened to Sal?

The former Sterling Cooper art director was fired after rejecting the advances of Lee Garner Jr., the son of the owner of Lucky Strikes cigarettes, and then never seen again.

Coincidentally, Lee Garner Jr.'s name also shows up on the wish list, along with the fact that Roger is sending him a Christmas gift every year until he dies.

Unfortunately, it looks like we'll have to wait ten years or so for the inevitable Netflix reboot to find out what happened to Sal and all our other favorite Mad Men sidenotes, but until then, head to the comments to weigh in on what you would have liked to see revisited!
