Throw on those dancing shoes, because it's prom season! It's not just high-schoolers who get all dolled-up. Many celebs have joined in on the formal fun and have either taken a fan or have gone solo and crashed!

Take a look back on nine celeb prom dates who have made the night even more special for their lucky fans.

1. Taylor Swift: In 2008, Swift appeared on MTV's Once Upon a Prom, where she chose a lucky fan, Whit, to go to his prom. The two took tons of photos together, ate fried chicken and even shared a slow dance. Whit told cameras, "I transferred here as a senior and didn't know anybody, now I'll always be remembered as the student who brought Taylor Swift to prom. This has just been the most incredible year!"

The video went viral and caught Upton's attention, but unfortunately she couldn't attend because of her schedule. However, Upton sent supermodel Agdel in her place! Agdel shared a photo on her Instagram, thanking Jake for being "an awesome date!"

4.  Miley Cyrus: Cyrus received one crazy promposal from Matt Peterson. His video also went viral, and Cyrus responded that she couldn't go because of her schedule but invited him to hang out with her on tour. Cyrus took her invitation to the next level and even invited Peterson on stage, where she serenaded him with her song "Adore You." Peterson dressed for the occasion in a tux jacket adorned with pictures of lounges on it.

5. Katy Perry: In 2010, the California Gurl crashed a prom in Melbourne and even performed! Perry admitted to students she came to the dance because she'd never been to a prom before!

6.  Victoria Justice: New Jersey fan Max Whitmore made a video where he had his AP Physics teacher to weigh in on why he'd be a good date for Justice. Victoria surprised Max at school, and invited him to her show, since she couldn't come to the actual prom.

7. Justin Timberlake: It wasn't Prom that Timberlake attended, but the Military Corps Ball. Cpl. Kelsey De Santis who was the only female serving at the Martial Arts Center for Excellence at Marine Corps Base Quantico, invited Timberlake through a Youtube video. Timberlake said on his website that it was "one of the most moving evenings I've ever had."

8.  Mila Kunis: Like Timberlake, it wasn't prom that Kunis attended, but it was a very formal affair. Mila was Sgt. Scott Moore's date for the Marine Corps Ball in Greenville, N.C.

9. Justin Bieber: Bieber's fan Cady Eimer made the musician a rap video titled "One Less Lonely Prom." On the night of her formal, Bieber surprised her with a video message inviting her to the Billboard Awards.  That's not the only prom Bieber has "crashed," earlier this year he snuck into Chatsworth High School's prom. The dance was occurring right near his recording studio, so he popped in for a few spins on the dance floor!
