Colbie Caillat received the best birthday gift when longtime boyfriend Justin Young proposed to her during their trip to Bermuda! The "I Do" singer (how appropriate!) announced the news on Twitter Friday, writing, "This sweet man asked me to be his lobster... And I said yes :). Any true Friends fan would pick up on the "lobster" reference!
(If you don't know it, here's the gist: Phoebe tells Ross that Rachel is his lobster because, according to Phoebe, lobsters fall in love and mate for life.)
Caillat must be one heck of a Friends fan because she even performed Phoebe's famous "Smelly Cat" at the Central Perk pop-up shop in NYC this past fall.
But we digress...
She attached a pic of herself leaning on her now-fiancé's shoulder. Caillat and Young, who also happens to be a musician, are hanging out on a boat where you can just catch a glimpse of her engagement ring (or should we say bling?). She also posted a picture on Facebook where she, Young and a pal are standing in the blowing wind. You can get an even closer look of her ring!
Caillat has been with Young for years, and they've only gotten closer since he is the guitarist in her band. She told Us Weekly in 2011 that she and Young work perfectly together.
"We have everything in common. He helps me with my music and guitar-playing, and we warm up together," she gushed. "We go everywhere together. It is like having your best friend with you, so I really love it."
She also dished that they wanted to get married "someday." Well, it looks like that day has come! At the time she said, "I don't think there is ever a rush. If he proposed I would be very excited and I would be happy."
This birthday must be making her feel pretty "Bubbly" LOL!
