Bill Klein is the first to admit that he's living a pretty wonderful life.

Between finding a loving wife with Dr. Jennifer Arnold and being dad to two kids, The Little Couple star knows he's "had a lot of great times in my life."

But while promoting his new book titled Life Is Short (No Pun Intended): Love Laughter, and Learning to Enjoy Every Moment, the 40-year-old is opening up about his recent battle with depression.

"In college, I had reached the deepest of depression and that brought me to the brink," he shared with HuffPost Live. "Since then, things have turned around huge for me. My life has gotten better and better every single year."

He continued, "I've had a few bumps in the road each year to deal with…but that said, I hope that I can teach my kids to do better than I did when it comes to dealing with people that you can't control."

In other words, Klein admits he's struggled to cope with bullies throughout his childhood. When growing up, he stated that he was picked on "more than I can remember." And ultimately, it's an experience he doesn't want his kids Will and Zoey to experience.

"I like to think I can police every child my son or daughter will interact with until they're 45 years old, but that's not realistic," he joked. "I hope I can arm them with enough intelligence to disseminate the difference between what matters and what doesn't and what they need to take to heart and what will make them the best person they'll continue to develop into."
