It's not easy being Kanye West

In the May 30 issue of Billboard magazine, celeb trainer Harley Pasternak opens up about his high-profile clients, including "close friend" Kanye West, with whom he had a scary experience while hiking a few years ago.

Billboard reports that West and Paternak were "nearly blown to bits in an abandoned military minefield" when the two were working out. Luckily, the pair saw warning signs for explosives and navigated their way back to safety.

Additionally, Pasternak shares the diet and fitness routine he instructs his A-list clients, including Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga, to follow—and it's as simple as walking 10,000 steps per day.

Working out for hours "just makes you hungry," Pasternak, who says many of his clients wear a FitBit to count their steps, shares.

The trainer also adds that his celeb pals regularly check in for diet and fitness advice, although the same can't be said for Kim Kardashian's mister.

"It's tough getting him to work within a structure," Pasternak admits of his friend whom he calls "such a creative." "He's more likely to send an email mocking something I've worn!"

While Pasternak stayed mum on Ye's workout routine, West's wife Kim Kardashian recently opened up about her husband's approach to diet and fitness.

"Kanye loves to eat really healthy and is always on different diets," the E! star revealed in her new book Selfish. "He has a chef who comes in the morning and cooks breakfast for both of us and gets our meal plans together for the day. We just started seeing a nutritionist who changes our diet every 10 days."

And when it comes to working out, the fit couple loves to sweat it out together. "I'll say, 'Do you want to go for a run?' And he usually does," the mother of one wrote of her morning routine. "Or he won't because he has a workout."
