This one inspired by some very passionate and vocal fans who apparently have strong feelings about who should—or should not—start doing the bumpity bump.
When E! Online hosted a Debate Club, our series debating the world's most important and life-altering issues (on TV), about whether or not TVD's resident BFFs Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) should get together now that Elena (Nina Dobrev) is gone, we expected some heated discussions from both sides. But it turned out to be pretty...one-sided.
Hey "Bamon" fans...were you sleeping? On vacation? Or have you jumped 'ships over the past couple of seasons of the CW's hit supernatural drama? Because you were clearly not voting in our poll...
After hundreds of thousands of votes, the results were a landslide victory for no "Bamon" hookup. That's right, 84% of you were totally against Bonnie and Damon's relationship ever turning into anything more than platonic friendship. Color us shocked, since we always thought there was a small but dedicated "Bamon" fanbase who wanted to see these two BFFs take their friendship to the next level.

And while we're not sure we're ready to see Damon move on romantically so soon after losing Elena, it sounds like everyone will be moving on from her exit in positive ways in season seven.
"We're not going to do a ton of 'grieving,' besides Alaric who is grieving the loss of his future family," executive producer Caroline Dries told us. "But Elena left on great terms with everyone and I think inspired them with her goodbyes. If anything, they're empowered by what she said and less grieving. They also feel freedom to have life after her. She granted them that."
