It's not easy lip-synching an LL Cool J song as LL himself watches on, but Queen Latifah makes the rapper proud with her performance of "Rock the Bells!"

In a preview from this week's Lip Sync Battle, the hip-hop royal goes all out with LL's 1985 hit, and he appears to be quite impressed with her onstage presence and delivery!

The Lip Sync Battle host is all smiles as he watches Latifah lead a crew of dancers and rap his lyrics. Commentator Chrissy Teigen is happy and dancing along to the beat, too, even throwing on an oh-so-'80s bucket hat like the one her co-host popularized some 30 years ago!

Latifah lip-synching "Rock the Bells" is excellent, let's be clear on that, but the queen doesn't necessarily have Thursday's battle in the bag. Reason being? She's up against Marlon Wayans, and who knows what the I Can Do That host has up his sleeve!

Now if Latifah's "Rock the Bells" doesn't beat Marlon's song Thursday, she still has a lot to be happy about. HBO debuted the Latifah-helmed Bessie Smith biopic Bessie earlier this month, and it's been getting rave reviews. During an interview with the New York Times, Latifah revealed she'd been wanting to play the bisexual African-American songstress since 1992.

"I'm not worried about what people think in any way, shape, or form when it comes to this movie," said Latifah of the progressive star, who died in a 1937 car accident."This is Bessie's story, and it needed to be told."
