Game of Thrones star Lena Headey revealed that not only is she pregnant with a baby girl, she also dished that she will be arriving in about six weeks! In a guest blog post on PlanUSA.org titled "My Daughter," Headey wrote that she will be fighting for women's rights in developing countries so that women abroad can enjoy the same rights she and her future daughter have.
"I am having a baby girl in six weeks. You have all been so lovely in your messages to me, and I thank you for that," she wrote. "My daughter will have freedom of choice. She will be free to dance, to sing, to be educated in the fields that spark her passion, to marry if she wants, to marry WHO she wants, to remain single, or to fall in love with another woman."
She added, "She'll be able to wear what she wants, put on lipstick, and read books that spark debate and expand her mind. She will be loved, protected, respected, and celebrated."
Headey announced her pregnancy in February, but didn't reveal the identity of her daughter's father. "I'm happy to confirm that I'm having my second child this summer," Headey, also known for her role in last year's 300: Rise of an Empire, told People magazine.
"I only hope that this announcement can help me to regain some of the privacy I have recently lost to prying photographers and ask that they please respect my privacy and let me enjoy this time."
She already has one son, Wylie, whom she shares with ex-husband Peter Loughran. At the time of her divorce, she said it felt like a death despite no one having passed away.
"There's a lot of hurt and sadness and disappointment. Grief. Massive grief," she told More magazine. "It's a mourning process, and yet nobody's died."
She also opened up about her ongoing struggle with depression, which fortunately has been under control as of late. "I haven't had a spell in a long time. I think some people's brains are just wired that way if you're a thinker," she said.
