While fans were undoubtedly devastated over Zayn Malik's decision to exit One Direction, there is one woman who is happy to have a little more time with her man.

"It's nice to see more of him now," Malik's fiancée Perrie Edwards tells U.K.'s The Sun in a recent interview. "We spend a lot of time in the kitchen, he's a great chef."

It's now been two months since the 22-year-old boybander left the group, which is now continuing on as a foursome consisting of Harry StylesLiam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis TomlinsonIn a statement at the time, the British singer announced his decision to depart the band after five years "because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight."

Following Malik's exit, Edwards faced a great deal of backlash as many Directioners were quick to claim the Little Mix singer was the reason behind the band's breakup.

"He [Malik] wanted to spend time with his family and his missus," Tomlinson said in a recent interview. "That's cool with us."

Still, in spite of Zayn's added free time, Edwards insists the two have yet to start planning their wedding, due to her career (E! News confirmed the couple's engagement in August 2013).

"I don't know when the wedding will be," she reveals. "We're still planning it but I'm so busy...Me and Zayn want it to be perfect, so as soon as I have a bit of time we'll plan it. I doubt it will be this summer—but I'll let you know!"

Currently, Little Mix is busy promoting their latest single "Black Magic" and Perrie seems happy to be spending more quality time with Zayn.

"They never stop cooking, that's all I ever hear," Perrie's bandmate Jesy Nelson tells The Sun. "Every time she comes in she's like, 'Zayn made me this' and 'Zayn made me that.' I'm like, 'Can he cook me a meal?'"

Meanwhile, Malik recently sparked speculation that he is launching a solo career after he was spotted with producer Naughty Boy in the studio in addition to engaging in a brief social media feud (which has since been resolved) with Tomlinson.

"There were certain parts of this job that Zayn loved and certain parts of the job that he didn't. If you don't like your job, you've got to follow your heart sometimes and go where you need to go. There's no argument with that," Payne said during the band's first TV appearance as a foursome earlier this month. "We were angry at first, but then it was just a bit more disappointing. We wish him the best of luck with whatever he gets up to. There's no hard feelings."
