The director and visionary responsible for Deep Throat, the movie that shocked a generation and changed the face of adult entertainment, has died. Gerard Rocco Damiano, aka Jerry Gerard, passed away at age 80 last weekend from a stroke.

Thanks to Damiano, however, millions of men are alive and well and enjoying stroke after stroke after stroke. “I’ve stroked twice this morning alone,” explained Timmy Carpenter, 14, of Ladera Heights, Ariz. “And I feel great. My dad taught me it’s OK to have a stroke every now and again.”

Carpenter’s father, Mitch, concurred. “Why sure, nothing wrong with it. In fact, I had my first stroke thanks to Damiano, way back in the Deep Throat days,” he revealed, smiling warmly and ruffling his son’s hair. “That’s long before you were around, my boy. But thanks to technology, I can still watch it on DVD. Heck, your mom’s at knitting club tonight; I just might slip it in and have a stroke for old time’s sake.”
