Matt Lauer is such a boss.

The Today Show anchor got on his bike and rode a whopping 227 miles (!) for a good cause. Lauer completed his Tour de Red Nose Thursday morning—biking over the Queensboro Bridge and arriving on the Today plaza to a roaring crowd—to help raise money for Red Nose Day, a benefit that helps poverty-stricken children.

"So close to the finish line. Thanks to all my pals from NBC who came out to ride today. I should make it to 30 Rock during the show," Lauer tweeted on Wednesday, before completing his ride yesterday morning.

"#RedNoseDay ride is complete. So happy to be back home after 227 miles on the bike. Thanks so much for your generosity and support," he wrote.

Lauer rode from Boston to New York City over the course of five days.

"I've had more peanut butter and jellies in the past week than I have in my whole life," he joked. The anchor traversed hilly terrain in rain, wind and occasional sunshine before arriving on the plaza.

And just a few miles out of the finish line, Lauer was surprised with an appearance from Katie Couric, who showed up on the street in a nurse's uniform, LOL! His fellow news anchor offered Matt some well-deserved TLC, including a donut cushion.

"I'm very proud of you for doing this and I know you might be a little sore," Katie said with a smirk. "Since this is my specialty, I brought some things to help you out."

Way to go, Matt!
