InstagramRyan Reynolds is a real life superhero and will bring you all the tears.
Wearing his red and black Deadpool costume, the 38-year-old actor met a little boy battling cancer, in a meeting arranged by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
"Tony Acevedo asked Make A Wish Foundation if he could meet Deadpool," Reynolds said on Instagram on Friday, alongside two heartwarming photos of the two.
The boy is pictured in one of them wearing a Deadpool mask and looking at the actor, who is crouched in front of him on bended knees, smiling.
"I wasn't expecting him to sneak the mask, put on the gloves, smile...and then beat Deadpool about the face, arms and jugular with blazing speed," Reynolds said. "Tony's next fight is with Hodgkin's Disease. Hodgkin's Disease best be wearing its brown pants. Huge thanks to @makeawishamerica."
Hodgkin's disease, or Hodgkin's lymphoma, is a cancer of lymph tissue. It is one of the most curable cancers but rarely affects children, according to U.S. National Library of Medicine.
Reynolds reprises his X-Men Origins: Wolverine role as the popular Marvel "anti-hero" Deadpool in a standalone movie of the same name. In the original comic books, his alter ego, Wade Wilson, battles cancer. The character's main power is an accelerated healing factor. Deadpool the movie is set for release on Feb. 12, 2016.
