Everyone clap for Reese Witherspoon!

It looks like the A-list star is going to be spreading some fairy dust after reports state Witherspoon is slated to star in and produce Tink, a live-action take on the classic Peter Pan character Tinker Bell.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Witherspoon will produce with Bruna Papandrea, her partner at the duo's production banner, Pacific Standard, and Victoria Strouse, who wrote the script for Pixar's upcoming Finding Nemo sequel, Finding Dory, is penning the script for the project.

Tink, which is still in development, does not have a director on board just yet.

Although initially a minor character, Tinker Bell has become a prominent character in the Disney franchise. Peter Pan's fairy companion has typically been portrayed as a temperamental character who can get pretty jealous due to her unrequited love for the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up.

Unfortunately, details on the project are being kept underwraps, but insiders tell THR it will play with the idea and the timeline of the well-known Peter Pan narrative.

Like Maleficent, which starred Angelina Jolie, Tink is supposed to give viewers insight into "the story you don't know," and will offer a new perspective on our favorite Disney fairy.
