It pretty much goes without saying now that you can expect at least one major cape moment on the biggest red carpets of the season, and we're not complainin'. From Gwyneth Paltrow's structured Tom Ford cape gown at the 2012 Oscars (she may not have originated the trend, but she definitely brought it back into the sartorial lexicon) to Lupita Nyong'o's crimson Ralph Lauren gown at the 2014 Golden Globes, stars have been playing caped crusader in seriously covetable clothing. (We gotta mention that there's even been an Edna Mode-worthy "No Capes!" snafu by Madonna.)
