InstagramSir Elton John went back to his roots this past weekend.
The Grammy-winning musician, who is currently preparing to go on tour, didn't let his work load interfere with missing a major milestone back in England. The now 68-year-old John jetted off to join his classmates from his days at the Pinner County Grammar School for a reunion celebrating the class of 1958!
"Lunch at home with dear old school friends. Many of whom I haven't seen for 50 years! It was as if we never left school. So much laughter and so many wonderful memories. #ShareTheLove #PinnerCountyGrammarSchool #Classof58," John captioned a group pic.
But though it's been a while since the whole gang was back together, it appears as though John, who attended the school till he was 17 ("grammar school," like "public school," has a different meaning in the U.K.) has kept in touch with some of his fellow Pinner students over the years.
"My oldest pal Keith Francis," he captioned a pic with his pal, both of them smiling from ear to ear. "A wonderful, loyal friend for 57 years and still counting! He flew all the way from Australia for our class reunion. Love you so much."
It's always lovely to see touching moments like these, when mega-celebs like Elton take time to remember where they came from—before they became globally famous.
