Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but mimicking someone else's work and taking credit for it? That's what they call cold hearted copying, Nasty Gal.

Recall Taylor Swift's stunning white jumpsuit form Sunday's 2015 Billboard Music Awards—the crisp cutout number fit the 25-year-old star flawlessly, and instantly inspired a best-dressed moment. Hot off the Balmain runway, the effervescent number was one of several Balmain designs to hit the BBMA red carpet, which the brand's creative director Olivier Rousteing himself walked.

But that didn't stop Nasty Gal from posting a rather bold Instagram pic of Ms. Swift in said jumpsuit, captioned: "One piece wonder @taylorswift in the #NastyGal Frisco Inferno Jumpsuit at the @officialbbmas #NastyGalsDoItBetter." (Note: The post has since been removed form Nasty Gal's Instagram account, but ample screenshots remain.)

And everyone's reaction was… Oh no they didn't!

Suffice to say, this isn't the first time Sophia Amoruso's fashion brainchild has been accused of some hardcore fashion copying, with some strikingly similar versions of Alexander Wang, Céline and many more designers' goods popping up in their collections.

While the "Bad Blood" singer's jumpsuit clearly was not a Nasty Gal original, that hasn't stopped Swift-style enthusiasts from jumping at the opportunity to own a similar version of her jumpsuit at a sliver of the price. The $78 knockoff is completely sold out, although the same version in black is still available.

Neither Nasty Gal nor Balmain has officially commented on the issue. But really, there's no need—the jumpsuit is obviously a copy, and Nasty Gals taking credit for Swift's red carpet ensemble was just not cool.
