President Barack Obama Has Only Been on Twitter for a Day and He's Already Bringing the Laughs

He's bringing the laughs with some great Twitter zingers

President Barack Obama, TweetingWhiteHouse/Twitter

It's only been 24 hours since Barack Obama joined Twitter and he already has almost two million followers. It's like he's the President or something.

While the rest of the world has been busy sizing up his activity on the social media platform, Obama himself has been taking baby steps. For starters, he's only following 65 people. That number includes many of the predictable handles, like fellow White House colleagues and different governmental departments (yawn), but he also threw follows to several Chicago sports teams and some of his presidential predecessors. Oh, and his wife, of course.

POTUS has also remained relatively quiet on the actual tweet front, with only three messages published as of Tuesday afternoon. But just because he's a man of few Twitter words doesn't mean he hasn't chosen them extremely carefully. In fact, one of his debut tweets might just have to go down in history as one of our favorites.

It all started when none other than Bill Clinton threw a cheeky tweet his way, asking about that famous Twitter handle:

Never one to back down from the opportunity for a good joke, Obama fired right back. Point, Barack.

But Clinton wasn't the only one to send some chuckle-worthy welcomes to the POTUS. Amidst the agenda-pushing tweets and some of the more inappropriate messages that won't get a mention here, we found that many Twitter users took the opportunity to make a Pres-related joke. Some were goofy, some were clever, and some were just downright dirty (here's looking at you, Amy Schumer!) We start with FLOTUS, because why not?
