How adorable is Poppy Brent-Berkus?

Nate Berkus shared a picture via Instagram Monday, which showed his daughter wearing a teepee-print onesie. "Hi guys. I know I'm only 8 weeks old but I've got a lot going on...." the interior designer, 43, said.

Poppy was born via surrogate on March 23 in New York City.

Though his husband, Jeremiah Brent, published a black-and-white picture of Poppy's hand late last month, this was the first time that Berkus had shared a picture of his newborn daughter's adorable face.

"I've always wanted to be a parent," Berkus recently told People. "I had hoped that I would have this chance, but I didn't want to do it on my own." Brent, 30, added, "Until recently, we didn't think it was possible. But we're fortunate to be legally married and things just fell into place. We're really thankful."

In the fall of 2014, the couple announced they were expecting. "Surrogacy can be about science, it can be about money, or it can be about intention. We were really lucky to have everybody that was involved in allowing us to have our daughter be excited for us. Our paternal instincts kicked in almost instantly," Berkus said. "She came out with her eyes open, looking around like she had been waiting for us."

Suffice to say, fatherhood is everything Berkus dreamed it would be. "I'm chewing on her knee caps when I'm changing diapers. Both of my grandmothers used to say, 'I want to take a bite out of you.' And I would think, 'These crazy ladies! That is so gross,'" he said. "And now I get it." His husband took it a step further, joking, "I find myself wanting to take bites out of her face or lick her like The Lion King."

Luckily for Brent, Berkus doesn't mind being on diaper duty. "I never thought I would be so excited to be 10 inches away from a filthy diaper as I am," the former talk show host admitted to People. "I live by her diaper schedule."
