Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas had lunch together yesterday at Cheebo in West Hollywood, immediately setting off speculation—immediately as in by the very act of stepping outside at the same time—that there could already be a romance brewing between the two.
E! News was first to report this past weekend that Gigi and boyfriend Cody Simpson had amiably split up (again), with Hadid's rep telling us, "They love each other dearly and have split up in hopes that growing on their own paths will bring them together in the future. They remain friends with no hard feelings and each other's biggest supporters."
Try and read that statement without tearing up a bit...
Anyway, Jonas has, for all intents and purposes, been single since his breakup with model Blanda Eggenschwiler last summer after nearly two years of dating.
So, are he and Gigi testing the dating waters together?
Nope, still just friends, a source tells E! News. Gigi herself laughed off rumors that they were anything more back in October, telling E! News that both she and Joe found the stories "hilarious."
But they do make a sight for sore eyes, so they are welcome to pal around town any time.
We're told that Gigi is actually having "a hard time" post-breakup—obviously understandable—so it's been nice to see her bonding with her besties this week. In addition to lunching with Joe, she went hiking in L.A. with Taylor Swift on Sunday and even made a cuddly new friend yesterday at a pet store.
