There's no shame in buying Selfish.

Lena Dunham proudly displayed her copy of Kim Kardashian's book of selfies today on Instagram--and even puckered up for a pouty self-portrait, evidence that the coffee table book/conversation starter is already doing its job.

"selfie with selfish #yeahiboughtit (I support experiments in female identity exploration/am a student of pop culture/will not be shamed)," the author and Girls star captioned her pic, in which she's flashing the cleavage-flashing cover of Kim's book.

Not that Dunham is any stranger to selfies, though they aren't often of the provocative variety.

While Kim's decision to publish a book full of selfies was certainly met with mixed reactions, Dunham likely isn't the only one to seek a higher purpose in the project. Who knows, Selfish could make a sociology course readling list one day!

"The pictures in this book bring back so many memories," the book's dedication reads. "Spanning almost a decade, they are only a small fraction of the thousands of selfies we considered for publication. From digital cameras, poloroids to Blackberries and smart phones, these photo documents the evolution of my selfies. And as I printed them out and laid them on the floor to make a final edit, I reflected on my very public journey as a daughter, sister, friend, wife and mother, this book is a candid tribute to all of my fans, who were with me the entire time."

Moreover, there are some racy pics included that once were leaked nudes, before Kim turned the tables and opted to make them part of the book.

"I wasn't intending to put these in the book but saw them online during the iCloud hack," Kim explains in the book. "I'm not mad at them. Lol They are taken with a Blackberry and I don't have iCloud...It's all a mystery!"

So Selfish really does span multiple genres.

Enjoy the reading, Lena!
