"No, I don't think even she got scripts yet, but she's excited. She's excited," Kinney told us about his fiancé's new gig.
Kinney, who stars in NBC's Chicago Fire, said he's seen a few episodes of the Emmy-winning FX series. "She's a big fan. She's the one who turned me onto it. I've seen a few," he told us on the red carpet for NBC 2015 Upfront where he was promoting the new season of Chicago Fire, set to debut this fall.
"Yeah, it's a bit out there, but I love it," Kinney said when discussing how wild the show can get. "The performances, the writing, the cinematography on that show—across the board, I think she really wanted to be a part of it, so I'm looking forward to watching. I think everybody will be."
Gaga will be starring alongside Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley and Chloë Sevigny in the upcoming FX series.
As for Kinney, he's prepping for next season of Chicago Fire and welcoming a new show to the fold: Chicago Med. The new medical drama joins Fire and Chicago PD from Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead. "I'm really looking forward to interactions with those guys and those characters, those storylines and hopefully a couple with SVU," Kinney teased of future crossovers.
A veteran of those Chicago winters, Kinney had this to say to the Med newcomers "You just got to grit your teeth and bare it. She's a bitch in the winter. Mom Nature, she's relentless. There's a couple days that gets 20 below—equipment starts to freeze, then it can be a little daunting," he said. "I love that city, though."
