The actress took to her shoe line's Instagram account on May 12 to clear up rumors that she was filming scenes for a third installment of the Sex and the City movie franchise. (Carrie Bradshaw devotees, now would be the time to brace yourselves.)
"Pinch me, I'm dreaming. After months and months of sworn secrecy, I can finally shout the news from the rooftop. Or even better, from the iconic @bloomingdales awning. Welcome to New York, @sjpcollection. You're going to love it here. Finally, a permanent home in NYC. Ps. Forgive me for any previous misunderstandings. Twenty lashes with a wet noodle. Yours forever, Sj x," she wrote alongside a pic that shows her looking LBD-chic on the awning of the retailer's 59th Street location.
Bloomingdale's will be the first New York City store to carry the SJP collection, which is set to be featured in select stores for the retailer starting in mid-June.
Social media lit up yesterday over a snap of Parker in front of the Bloomingdale's flagship store, in what we still contend is a very Carrie Bradshaw-like image. The photo, which shows the star sporting a sleek white dress, gold heels and toting the famed "Brown Bag" shopping bag, was posted to Instagram by Parker, who included a coy caption: "Well. I guess the cat's out of the (little brown) bag. As usual, we will keep you posted on every detail as we are able," she teased. "I'm under strict gag order until then."
Warner Bros. quickly shot down rumors of a third Sex and the City installment, however: "The post is not in relation to the Sex and the City property," the studio told E! News on Monday. This isn't the first time SJP has invoked the iconic HBO character for her shoe collection's social media account: In 2014, she took a heel-laden shot on the steps of Carrie's famed brownstone apartment building.
You almost had us there, Sarah Jessica! (But at least we have those shoes as consolation.)
