AKM-GSIEven though Gigi Hadid is going through a tough breakup, she has her BFFs by her side to help her get through it. Just one day after E! News exclusively reported that she and Cody Simpson had called it quits, the supermodel stepped out for a nice hike with bestie Taylor Swift.
The singer and her pal kept things low key, dressing in simple athletic clothes and covering up with trendy sunglasses. Their workout was probably just what Hadid needed! There's nothing like getting the endorphins flowing all while having the support of your best friend to help get you over the initial hump.
Although Hadid and Simpson have ended their relationship for a second time, there is no animosity between the two. A rep for Hadid told E! News, "Cody and Gigi want each other to be in a place right now that allows him to only focus on his music, fans, and new message, while she can focus and continue building her career.
"They love each other dearly and have split up in hopes that growing on their own paths will bring them together in the future."
The statement concluded, "They remain friends with no hard feelings and each other's biggest supporters."
Simpson recently had admitted that their busy schedules were making things tough, but they were trying their hardest to make it work. "We see each other more than you would expect because we're dedicated to making it work and it's not too stressful," he shared with HuffPost Live. "We try to stay in a bit. We try to stay out of [the spotlight]."
He added, "It's hard because she's a model. She's getting photos taken all the time. We just try and stay low."
Staying low might not have been enough for this young couple, but since they have broken up before—they took time off in May 2014—maybe they'll get back together again in the future! Simpson's sister, Alli Simpson, even said that she thought marriage could be in their future.
"I mean honestly right now it seems like they will! I'm the one that's like just get married already, it's ridiculous," she told E! News at Nylon and BCBGeneration's Young Hollywood party. "They are so adorable. They bring out the best in each other."
