Two down, one Jonas to go, when it comes to commenting on this whole Zayn Malik-One Direction situation.

Kevin Jonas, 27, the eldest former member of the Jonas Brothers trio,  recently offered his take on the British singer's departure in March from boy band One Direction. Kevin's group, also made up of brothers Joe Jonas, 25, and Nick Jonas, 22, broke up in October 2013 after performing together for seven years, and just after cancelling a tour.

Nick, who is now concentrating on a solo career, had told E! News last month that he "commends" Malik for "doing what he feels is right for him."

Kevin offered his take on the singer's decision in an interview on The Elvis Duran Morning Show on iHeartRadio this week. He was also asked about returning to the stage and what he thinks about Nick's solo career.

"I get it completely and I also understand that in the midst of that intensity, like, he should go dark for a long time," the singer replied.

Malik is expected to launch a solo career but has not announced one. He has been spending time recently with friend and music producer Naughty Boy.

"You gotta go dark for at least like, six weeks, like, underground," Kevin told Duran. "You gotta go hard. Like, you're done....Because you gotta let it settle, you gotta let the dust clear because anything you do then will be scrutinized."

"'Cause if you come out and you're just like, 'Hey, look at me, I'm super happy and everything's great!" everybody's gonna be like, 'What the f....you know?'" he added.

Malik has mostly laid low since leaving One Direction. This week, there was the first sign of potential drama when he joined a Twitter war of words between Naughty Boy and 1D member Louis Tomlinson. Following an online backlash, Malik later said he was defending himself and that he loves his fans.

"Notice how we, like, when we went dark, like, we went dark," Kevin told Duran. "We didn't do a single interview, we didn't talk to anybody, after we made the announcement, like, we just went dark."

"It was near, around Christmas, holidays so we like just shut down," he said. "I just got really depressed for a while. It's like...there's a mourning process...and we were leaving for a tour that day. So we were like, 'OK, so now we gotta handle some business stuff, then I'm flying from Los Angeles home by myself, which is like, weird...It feels eerie."

Nick and Joe performed together twice, without Kevin, soon after the Jonas Brothers split.

Months after the breakup, Kevin and his wife Danielle welcomed their first child, a daughter named Alena Rose Jonas. The couple had starred in an E! reality show, Married to Jonas. Kevin later returned to reality TV, appearing on season 7 of Celebrity Apprentice in 2014.

"I think like, by the time the holidays were over and I kinda just, like, stayed local and had some fun," Kevin told Duran. "And then Apprentice came along and that was nice for me, 'cause I kinda switched focus."

Kevin has also gotten into the app business. His restaurant-finding application Yood was launched in November.

"I miss touring," he told Duran. "I miss seeing people on the road. I miss that adrenaline rush. There's nothing like it."

He said he would consider performing again, saying, "if it was the right time and if it was what we decided to do."

Kevin was also asked about Nick's recent solo career success,  following the releases of his hit singles "Chains" and "Jealous."

"I hear this, I dunno literally how many times I hear this...it's the worst pun in the world from some idiotic frat guy, but it's like, 'Oh, you must be jealous of Nick, ha ha ha ha ha,'" he said. "Why? He's doing his thing, I'm doing mine. I'm happy, he's happy, this is great. I'm supporting him, he's supporting me, everybody wins."
