Which Big Bang Theory Couple Just Imploded On Us Because of The Flash?!

Everything on the CBS hit is real sad right now, and it might all be because of The Flash

"Well Gollum, you're an expert on rings. What do I do with this one?"

And with that, The Big Bang Theory ended its eighth season and broke all our Sheldon-loving hearts.

After several seasons of doing her damnedest to make her relationship with the socially-challenged Sheldon work, Amy was understandably upset when her boyfriend interrupted a make-out session to talk about The Flash. This led to her deciding to reevaluate their relationship and break things off, via video chat.

Sheldon then turned to his Gollum figurine and pulled out a ring box, because he was apparently about to propose.

Now, we have many thoughts about this turn of events. First of all, we completely understand Amy's hesitations about continuing to date Sheldon, because he clearly has other priorities.

Second, and perhaps more importantly, we completely and totally understand Sheldon feeling like he needs to watch The Flash, though we're not quite sure how he could possibly not already have watched every single episode of it. It is one of the best shows on TV right now, and we're pretty sure that if Amy would just watch it, she would agree, and maybe she could share in Sheldon's love of the fastest man alive.

Anyway, we digress.

Flash or no Flash, Amy and Sheldon seem to have broken up, and now we will probably go watch (and rewatch, and watch again) The Flash in order to drown our sorrows.

(We really love The Flash.)

As for the show's other couples, at least a couple of them are standing strong-ish. Penny and Leonard had a few moments of wondering if they would still get married, despite the fact that they haven't set a date, and Leonard kissed a girl on his trip. At the end of the episode, they were headed to Vegas and were assuring each other that the wedding was still on, but the looks on their faces didn't quite tell the same story.

Meanwhile, Raj wanted to break up with Emily after she wanted to have sex in a cemetery but instead he confessed his love to her, and Howard and Bernadette wanted to kick Stuart out of the houe but made him a cupcake instead.

Other than the fact that Stuart got a cupcake (even if under false pretenses), nothing's going well right now in Pasadena. In fact, everything is terrible, and that was a real bummer of a way to end the season.

Save us, Barry Allen, please!
