Tom Hardy may have dropped out of Suicide Squad. But the British actor is still very much interested in exploring the genre.

In a new interview, Hardy was asked about wanting to participate in another Warner Bros. comic-book film. Turns out he has his eyes set on a specific Marvel character.

"I want The Punisher or Splinter Cell," he told Collider."I want something…I don't know what I want."

He added while laughing, "I'm not big enough to be The Punisher. I'm 5-foot-9."

He may have a point. After all, Ray Stevenson played the role in War Zone and he was an impressive 6-foot-4. Lucky guy!

Hardy, who pulled out of Suicide Squad because of scheduling conflicts, was originally supposed to play the part of Rick Flag in the film adaption of the popular DC comic book. His next big-screen role will be in Mad Max: Fury Road where he will once again bring Max Rockatansky to life.

"In this wasteland, I'm the one who runs from both the living and dead," Hardy said in the mysterious trailer. "A man who is reduced to a single instinct: Survive."

One job the 37-year-old won't be taking on is a starring role in a romantic comedy. After filming This Means War with Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine, the actor realized the genre wasn't for him.

"I love to do things I hadn't done before. I didn't understand how you could do something which is so fun and be so miserable doing it," he told USA Today. "I probably won't do a romantic comedy again, do you know what I mean?"

Marvel, it sounds like the ball is now in your court universe.
