Jeremy Renner is still saying sorry.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron star has already apologized, along with co-star Chris Evans, for referring to Scarlett Johansson's character Black Widow as a "slut," but the star said he's sorry once more while explaining what happened during his guest appearance on Conan last night.

"Yeah, it was a joke, off-collared or whatever, but yeah, I'm apologetic about a lot of things. But yeah, I got in a lot of Internet trouble. I guess that's a thing now," Renner began.

"So I was asked the question, 'Black Widow has been linked to Hawkeye, Iron Man, Bruce Banner and Captain America, so what do you think about that?' And I said, 'Well, sounds like she's a slut.'"

However, the actor continued to point out that her (albeit fictional) behavior would make anyone a slut.

"Now, mind you, I'm talking about a fictional character and fictional behavior, but Conan, if you slept with four of the six Avengers, no matter how much fun you had, you'd be a slut. Just saying. I'd be a slut," Renner added.

When asked who he thinks Black Widow is most attracted to now, Renner answered, "I don't know, man. We're talking about fictional characters. Maybe it's the Hulk. She's into the Hulk now."

(Conan very astutely mentioned that it would most definitely not be Quicksilver. For obvious reasons.)

E! News obtained statements issued by Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans regarding their comments at the time that it happened.

"Yesterday we were asked about the rumors that Black Widow wanted to be in a relationship with both Hawkeye and Captain America," Evans said in the statement. "We answered in a very juvenile and offensive way that rightfully angered some fans. I regret it and sincerely apologize."

"I am sorry that this tasteless joke about a fictional character offended anyone," Renner also said in a statement. "It was not meant to be serious in any way. Just poking fun during an exhausting and tedious press tour."

Avengers: Age of Ultron is now out in theaters.
