It turns out that the longtime band decided to practice for their upcoming appearance on the Tonight Show, which will take place Friday night, by giving their fans a performance they won't soon forget.
Bono and the rest of his bandmates brought the house down at the Grand Central subway stop and swarms of commuters gathered to film the once-in-a-lifetime concert.
The group sang three singles ranging from arguably one of their most popular to a brand-spanking-new track: "Beautiful Day," "Angel of Harlem," and "Song for Someone."
And, as luck would have it, there was a famous face in the crowd witnessing the band performing live in the subway station!
The Facts of Life star Lisa Whelchel happened to be traveling nearby when she walked past the exciting spectacle. Talk about being in the right place at the right time!
The band was forced to cancel their guest appearance on Jimmy Fallon's show last November after Bono was involved in a bicycle accident that left him injured.
The incident left the frontman with an arm that was broken in six places as well as a fractured eye socket.
To make up for lost time, the show has decided to throw an entire U2-centric episode this coming Friday. Exciting times!
