Nothing can stop Britney Spears.

After rolling her ankle onstage last week while performing at her sold-out Piece of Me show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, the "Pretty Girls" singer made a surprise appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday to give an update on her injury and make a major announcement. "We just watched what happened, and first of all, what a trooper," Ellen DeGeneres said. "You just kept on singing and tried to keep dancing on the floor. What happened?"

"Well, I actually wasn't doing anything that hard," the pop star said. "I was just kind of bopping around. And I've done like eight years worth of shows. Plenty of shows! And I've never actually fell onstage, so it was really kind of embarrassing. But yeah, I fell down and I got up, and my dancers kind of guided me to keep going."

Spears first reached out to fans via Twitter Apr. 30, writing, "Breaks my heart to share this news. After hurting my ankle last night my doctor has advised me not to perform this weekend #Heartbroken. Your kind words mean everything to me! I'm rescheduling this weekend's shows and will let ya'll know when we have the new dates. xoxo."

DeGeneres commended Spears, as it "didn't look like" she was in much pain, though one of the pop princess' feet was still in a bootie while the other was in a Carmen Steffens heel.

"I tore some ligaments," Spears explained.

"So you can't perform for a little while," the host said. "Well, you could do a show in a wheelchair and choreograph it that way. Right?"

Spears laughed and told DeGeneres, "Yes."

"'Cause we want to see you," the comic said. "You gotta keep going, right?"

"Exactly," Spears said. "The show must go on." In fact, the show will go go on longer than expected, as Spears said she is extending her residency at Planet Holiday "for three more months." DeGeneres then joked, "I just think you should give our entire audience tickets."

Spears wasn't joking, though—that's exactly what she did!

Don't expect to see the same old show, either. As Spears said during an On-Air With Ryan Seacrest interview Monday, "We're going to change up the show and make things more fresh and interesting going forward."
