At some point while the looks, each one more eye-popping than the next, were parading down the red carpet at the 2015 Met Gala, this picture of a person in a white suit taking a tumble down some red-carpeted stairs started making the rounds on Twitter and "Jason Derulo" started trending.
Because somehow, in some universe, this looked like Jason Derulo to people. Even though the falling pic, which even from the back looked nothing like the "Talk Dirty to Me" singer, was taken at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.

— puppy (@Alech789) May 5, 2015Huffington Post had covered the scary spill at the time and was happy to remind the quick-to-pile-on tonight that the pic was four years old.
We really are at a loss as to why this fellow was mistaken for Derulo, who also is not even at the Met Gala. But he's checking Twitter!
"Lmao I'm at rehearsal in LA. Fuq ya'll! Lol," he captioned a pic of himself on Instagram, a meme in which he's holding a mic and above him is written "Da F--k."
And considering Derulo actually did suffer a serious neck injury in an accident that occurred during a rehearsal in January 2012... we're glad he is keeping his sense of humor about this odd, odd Twitter trending topic, because we are somewhat offended.
Not to mention, still flummoxed.
