Lorde and Jennifer Lawrence enjoyed a girls' night out in New York City Sunday night ahead of the Met Gala Monday, opting for a low-key night out on the town. The 18-year-old singer donned a navy blue sweater dress with heels while the Oscar-winning actress opted for ripped jeans, a white tee and black heels.
J.Law appeared makeup free (and obviously still stunning) for her outing, sporting bright blonde wavy hair and just a simple light shade of lip-gloss. Lorde, on the other hand, rocked bare-minimum makeup and looked great, too.
The young Hollywood stars became friends after they worked together on the soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Lorde recorded "Yellow Flicker Beat" while Lawrence surprised fans with her vocals on "The Hanging Tree." The two were spotted going back to the Carlyle Hotel where Lorde happens to be staying.
Both stars have publicly gushed about each other before. The New Zealander recalled her first time meeting the Silver Linings Playbook star during a Twitter Q&A, writing, "Haha she was so cute, very excited that i was there! she kept running over between takes to chat/we double fangirled. i luv jen."
Lawrence confirmed her appreciation for the "Royals" singer during an interview with BBC Radio. "I completely fanned out. 'Is she here? Is she here? Is she here? She's here? Ok, cool...got a picture with her,'" she recalled.
As one of the Met Gala's co-hosts, Lawrence's bare look must mean she's saving her face for her big debut! She also looked effortlessly chic when she was spotted at LAX Friday on her way to NYC, where she rocked low-cut pants and a crochet see-through top.
She opted for a makeup-free look then, too, and her complexion looked incredible. Her casual street style has been on point lately, so we can only imagine how gorgeous and stylish she'll look at the Met Gala!
