Medical dramas are back, baby!

NBC has officially kicked off pick-up season, announcing on Friday that three new dramas are joining their scheduled for the 2015-2016 season, and two of them are set in the world of hospitals.

Dick Wolf will have four shows on NBC this year with Chicago Med, the third in the executive producer's Chicago series. Chicago Med stars Oliver Platt, Laurie Holden, S. Epatha Merkerson, Nick Gehlfuss and Yaya Dacosta. The new series, set in the emergency room, will have "familiar faces from the Chicago police and fire departments will intertwine as this third team of Chicago heroes hits the ground running." Hmmm…did somebody say crossovers? Wolf, Matt Olmstead, Michael Brandt and Derek Haas are executive producers.

Heartbreaker is the other medical drama joining the Peacock's lineup. The series is based on the real life and achievements of Dr. Kathy Magliato. Melissa George stars as Dr. Alex Pannttiere, a world-renowned heart-transplant surgeon. She's stubborn and fearless in managing her professional and "racy" personal life. Dave Annable, Don Hany, Shelley Conn, Jamie Kennedy, Maya Erskine, J. Louis Mills, Joshua Leonard and D.L. Hughley also star in the drama executive produced by Jill Gordon, Amy Brenneman, Brad Silberling and Robbie Duncan McNeil.

The other drama joining NBC's ranks (as of now) is Blindspot from Greg Berlanti. The series kicks off when Jane Doe is discovered naked in the heart of New York City. These are the questions. Sullivan StapletonJaimie Alexander, Rob BrownAudrey EsparzaMarianne Jean-BaptisteUkweli Roach and Ashley Johnson star.
