Captain America is trying to make sense of a world that doesn't make sense.

In Avengers: Age of Ultron, he puts his search for The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) on hold after Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) accidentally creates Ultron (James Spader), an android hell-bent on destroying the human race. When E! News' Alicia Quarles visited the film's set in London last summer, Chris Evans explained where his character's head is at in the Joss Whedon's sequel.

So, what's new in Steve Rogers' life?

"Well, Cap's a woman in this one!" Evans joked.

Jokes aside, Ultron's threat are taken very seriously in the movie.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. has fallen, so there really isn't an organization giving us commands. It's more about us leaning on each other as a unit. For Cap, it's a matter of finding out where's home, if that makes sense," he said. "Everyone else in the group has relationships and families and places that they can call their home. Cap's still a little bit of a man out of time and place, so he's a little bit lost, I suppose."

Evans had "a lot more fun" shooting the sequel, he said because in 2012's The Avengers, the actors were "trying to get to know each other and building the friendships. Now, after the first film and promoting the first film, this is like family, so it's a lot easier to slip into a comfort zone with these people."

He's not worried about how the film will be received. "There's always pressure with every movie you do. It's a stressful business at times, I suppose, but it's a lot nicer when there's a group of people. It's not all on your shoulders," he said. "You just put your faith in Joss because he knows what he's doing more than anyone I've ever seen in the comic book universe, so we just kind of all rally behind him."

Evans only had one complaint about the film.

"Oddly enough, I really haven't been to a lot of strange locations on these movies. I'm stuck in the sound stages. They shot in Italy on this one. They shot in South Africa. I wasn't there for any of those places!" he said, noting that he did get to shoot a sequence in South Korea. "Can I get a scene in, like, Hawaii?"

Evans also praises Marvel's "butt-kicking" heroines in the video above!
