It's Time for the Past, Present and Future to Finally Collide on The Flash!

"The Trap" pays off pretty much every dangling plot line in a satisfying way. Plus, WestAllen!

We'll admit it: we've been a little frustrated with The Flash lately.

It kills us to officially declare that, because ever since the CW's newest superhero show premiered, we've been its biggest fan. No, really, we are the No. 1 fan, you can't even argue with us about that so don't even try.

But ever since Barry (Grant Gustin) time-traveled—accidentally!—for the first time, resetting every single epic twist and reveal from the day before, we've been on pins and needles waiting for him to rediscover everything once again. When would Cisco (Carlos Valdes) learn the truth that Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh) has actually been Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher) this entire time...again? When would Iris (Candice Patton) learn the truth about Barry's secret identity as the Flash...again? When would Iris profess her feelings to Barry...again? Gah!

It's almost as if the CW gave us a finale-level episode, only to backtrack in a major way, letting the dust settle on what could have been another action-packed run of episodes. Missed opportunity!

But we take back everything negative we ever said, because our patience is about to pay on in major ways in tonight's episode. "The Trap" makes up for that time-travel reset...and so much more.

E! News was lucky enough to screen the game-changing episode early, and in just the first few minutes, fans will finally see the present and future meet, and it's all thanks to Gideon (Morena Baccarin). When we last saw Barry, Cisco and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), they had just discovered Wells' "future vault" in the walls of S.T.A.R. Labs, and at the beginning of "The Trap," they'll discover his artificial intelligence sidekick as well.

She's going to drop some major knowledge on the trio, and heads up all you WestAllen fans: this is only one of the scenes you won't want to miss. Your 'ship of choice is featured heavily in this episode, pretty much in spite of the fact that Eddie (Rick Cosnett) is about to propose to Iris!

But before you start freaking out that Gideon is going to out them all to Wells, her final reveal gives them all hope that maybe, just maybe, they can pull off a trap to catch Wells and get him to confess to Barry's mother's murder. What they need to remember, though, is that Wells is always one step ahead of them. When Caitlin figures out a way for Cisco to witness his "dreams" in full, finally giving them all the information they need about the alternate timeline that Barry reset (aka when Wells killed Cisco), they hatch a plan that could—and will—change everything for the S.T.A.R. Labs team going forward, whether it works or not.

Let's circle back to Eddie's big question though, because while the "golden boy" detective goes about it the right way, a.k.a. asking Joe's (Jesse L. Martin) permission first (all together now: awww), he doesn't get the answer he expects. In fact, he gets a big "NO." Who knew Joe was such a WestAllen shipper?! That's not the only time Eddie gets bad news in the episode. This poor guy has no idea what he's in for!

"The Trap" also finally reveals what went down in the months when Barry was in his coma, first in the hospital and then when Wells convinced Joe to move Barry to S.T.A.R. Labs. The past, present and future are all finally going to collide!

The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
