There's STILL a Crazy Line at the Tokyo Taco Bell, and Katy Perry Just Waited in It

For she is a taco soldier.

In case anyone was thinking that the burrito frenzy in Tokyo was going to die down, you would be wrong.

Japan was treated to its very first Taco Bell over a week ago and people came out in droves—literal droves—to get a taste of that sweet, sweet fire sauce. Taco enthusiasts started lining up at 7:30 a.m. on opening day and the long wait continued long into the night. Tokyo's residents seemed so thrilled about the prospect of trying T. Bell (including new delicacies like a shrimp and avocado burrito) that they barely flinched at the several-hours-long wait.

But now, days and days later, it seems that Taco Fever is still as strong as ever—and so are the lines. And what's our proof, you ask? None other than Katy Perry braved an hour-long wait in Tokyo. And she Instagrammed about it, of course. The singer has been enjoying her time across the other pond, showing her fans snaps from a trip to Disneyland and a sushi-themed restaurant.

When it was time for a little Taco Bell (or, in Katy's case, a "Crunchwrap Supreme on fleek"), it seems she would stop at nothing to satisfy her craving. She posted a pic of herself standing in front of the Shibuya district restaurant, sporting a DRDON Mask by Donatienne, with the caption "You can take the girl out of America but you can't take the Taco Bell out of the girl, okuurrrr. (Also there was an hour wait fer it...Tokyo knows what's up!"

Now just to be sure that Ms. Perry wasn't exaggerating on the wait time, we decided to do a little Twitter digging of our own. And it turns out that the fast food joint as every bit as popular as it was on opening day.

Now that's what we call dedication, people. Katy hasn't tweeted or 'grammed to let her followers know how the Japanese version of the Crunchwrap Supreme stacked up, but hopefully it was worth the sacrifice.
