Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming have been selected to host the 69th Annual Tony Awards on June 7. Live from Radio City Music Hall, the show will air on CBS at 8/7c.
The recent Cabaret star and On the Twentieth Century actress have teamed up before, having worked together on Strange Magic, The Good Wife and Annie. Neither one is a stranger to the bright lights of Broadway. Chenoweth has taken home a Tony award for her performance in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and received a nod for her role as Glinda in Wicked (she held the original spot).
Cumming won a Best Actor in a Musical Tony Award for his performance in Cabaret. He has also appeared in other shows, including a one-man performance of Macbeth.
People had long speculated Neil Patrick Harris could host the show once again. They also threw around James Corden, Stephen Colbert and Jim Parsons as possibilities.
The nominations were also announced Tuesday morning. Some big Hollywood names earned some nods, including Bradley Cooper for his performance in The Elephant Man, while the show's hostess, Chenoweth, nabbed a nod for her work On the Twentieth Century. Carey Mulligan and Helen Mirren also earned kudos for their performances in Skylight and The Audience, respectively.
